Are you A Country Junkie?

We get replies all the time from  “Country Junkies!” I’m talking about regular folk who don’t necessarily live on a farm or own horses or work on a ranch. Now don’t get me wrong…we have plenty of fans who are real cowboys…and I’m talking about YOU Thabo Alberts! Thabo our customer and now friend…by the way, if you are a customer we consider you a friend as well…is a cowboy in Australia. I will have more about him in a future post. But our definition of “Country Junkie” is someone who loves country music! If you live in the ‘burbs or the city or in the deep south and you love country music you can be an “Official Country Junkie!”  Yes you can!

We go to a bunch of concerts and spend our hard earned money of all the new releases of our favorite country musicians. We have been lucky enough to see Toby Keith recently and he rocks country music! I don’t know where you might stand on his hit “Red Solo Cup” but I know there are two camps…some hate it and some love it! I think the video is excellent but the song wears on me a little. (Sorry Toby!)

I recently bought Tuskegee by Lionel Ritchie and a slew of country stars. Now at first I thought he was just trying to ride the country wave and ride the coattails of the huge resurgence of country music…thanks to Taylor Swift and Kenny Chesney! But the disc is excellent! With stars like Kenny Chesney, Jason Aldean, Tim McGraw, Little Big Town, Blake Shelton, Darius Rucker, Rascal Flatts, Jennifer Nettles of Sugartown, Shania Twain, (welcome back Shania!) Billy Currington, Kenny Rodgers, Willie Nelson and the great Jimmy Buffett! This disc is a keeper…especially if you remember the 80′s and when Lionel Ritchie owned the airwaves!
