If you like Ellen and Taylor Swift you will love this short video…
So on we go…sloggin through the overcast, rainy and not so spring-like New England Chili Fest Schedule. When the Gone Country T Shirt Company teamed with the Crack Festival Team we had one goal. We wanted to show the world our very cool new line of country music themed t-shirts. We know people love them…we just want MORE people to see them and love them! Ahem…is that too much to ask? A couple of sunny spring weekends? Geeez! And I know 100 other vendors asking the same thing!
So the Crack Festival Team…this time consisting of Crack Festival Team President Dr. K and a new trusted companion the Wonderful Liz. (the Fabulous Cheryl went to California to escape the “Super Spring” here in New England) The anticipation was sky high for a kick-ass festival spreading the word about our Gone Country T’s and Tanks!
The display looked aces…
And as you can see here the Wonderful Liz was chili (or is that Chilly? brrrr) but ready for ACTION!
The other 100 vendors we all primed and ready for the day to begin…just waiting on the crowds!
But alas…they never came. But that didn’t faze the Crack Festival Team because they sprang into action with big smiles, hello’s and howdy’s. They played some great country tunes on their boom box and they did make some new customers and friends! And that folks is what it’s all about! Hell yeah!
So…maybe we didn’t sell as many shirts as we expected and maybe it was a little chilly and overcast but it looks like Dr. K and the Wonderful Liz had a good time…
Don’t forget…you don’t have to wait to see the Crack Festival Team at a festival near you this summer. You can always purchase the coolest country music and country themed t-shirts right here at our website. Our t-shirts are top quality, hand printed and are always inspired by country livin’ and today’s country music hits. We always welcome your comments and feedback! We are country fans and we make “Contemporary Apparel for the Modern Country Fan!”
We were looking forward to the New England Regional Chili Cookoff in Somers, Ct. on May 7th! “Mad Mike” the king of all things Chili loved our shirts and was excited to have us as a vendor! And we were excited to be there! The anticipation was building as we whipped our fabulous production crew into a frenzy and we printed, bagged and tagged our whole line of Gone Country T shirts for the big day! Not many of you know that we hand print to order our T Shirts. We own a screen printing company so we don’t stock ahead of time. As the orders roll in we print your order, tag it and bag it just for you! And sometimes we include a few extra goodies!
Early (very early!) our Crack Festival Team consisting of Dr. K and the Fabulous Cheryl arrived on the festival grounds and proceeded to erect our booth. After hoisting up our company banner (yay!) “Mad Mike”, the king of all things Chili made his first appearance:
We presented him with a shirt he previously requested, he blessed our booth and off he went to probably have some chili! Well, maybe not. It was about 8am.
So we get our booth up and it’s lookin’ fine…
The crowds start to enter the chili fest about 11ish and by 12 noon the fabulous Cheryl, Vice President of the Crack Festival Team was enjoying life!
As the day wore on…actually as the hour wore on…it was only 1pm now… the sky started to get dark and gray. The Crack Festival Team was selling our fabulous t’s and tanks and chili aprons like hotcakes but the weather decided we had had enough fun for the day! The sky opened up and the crowd…well the crowd figured that wet t shirts are only meant for spring break and watered down chili just didn’t have the right taste…headed for the comfort of home. So the Crack Festival Team went about rain-proofing our Gone Country T’s and stuff and started packing up for the trip home.

All in all it was a very good day for Gone Country T Shirts! We sold a lot of T’s, made some new customers and friends and we are looking forward to next year with “Mad Mike”, the king of all things chili and the New England Regional Chili Cookoff! We will just be bringing more rain gear that’s for sure!
This summer Gone Country T’s has decided to spread the word about our very cool country themed t shirts by participating in some festivals in and around New England. Our Crack Festival Team consists of Dr.K and the fabulous Cheryl. They are outgoing, funny and really represent the Gone Country brand perfectly! To kick off our new venture we have added new Gone Country T shirts and tank tops. We will be adding new products and apparel as the summer goes on.
Our very first festival was at the Uxbridge, Mass VFW and hosted by the New England Country Music Club. Dr.K and the Fabulous Cheryl attended a pre-festival get together and found the club members very friendly and enthusiastic. They (of course) loved our shirts and designs and were looking forward to the big festival weekend. Dr. K did notice that he was the only vendor to attend the gathering but he was assured that more vendors would be in attendance on the big day.
Our Crack Festival Team jumped into action early (early!) in the morning on May 1 . Our assigned booth space was clear across the parking lot from the entrance to the actual festivities. The festivities would include lots of good food and great live country music bands. What could be more fun? Dr. K and the Fabulous Cheryl immediately assumed that the parking lot was going to be filled with hundreds of vendors! How festive! Although they were a long, long, long way from the entrance they figured the organizers must have given them a great spot!
Well…not so much. It turned out that we were the ONLY vendor! Here is a pic taken that morning that shows just how fantastic our booth space was!

But our Crack Festival Team made the best of it and actually did rather well all things considered. Because they were situated so close to the road cars traveling by could see our enormous “Gone Country T Shirts” sign and stopped by to make a purchase or three. See how close we were to the road?
Another fun fact about this festival was the wind. At times the gusts were so high that our shirts almost acted like sails for our tent! If Dr. K didn’t hold on tight the tent and our whole display would probably be in Idaho right now!

So our first “festival” was over and the Crack Festival Team dealt with some adversity and came out with experience, some new dedicated customers, some well earned money and had some fun doing it! Ahhh….life is good!
Recently I was watching a few new country music video’s and I couldn’t help but notice a similar theme…Pontiac GTO’s! I grew up driving and pretty much worshipping muscle cars and I had the pleasure of driving a few GTO’s back in the day. My favorite was the ’67 but by far the quickest was the ’69 bright orange Judge I had the pleasure to drive. What fun back in the 60′s and 70′s tooling around in more horsepower than anyone ever needs!
For those of you that never had the experience of driving one of these beasts of the road I’m including a clip of a ’68 GTO by George Moss that puts you right in the drivers seat. And of course here are the fabulous videos featuring what else? Country music and GTO’s! Ahhh…life is sweet!
Every business has to find it’s niche. Our goal was always to have a company that creates and produces country music and country themed T-Shirts. That goal stems from our love of country music. If you listen carefully it often paints a vivid picture of country life. Rascal Flatts sings Mayberry and pays tribute to Andy and Barney sitting on a front porch
with Andy “picking on a six string, watching people pass by and you call them by their first name.” In Country Strong Blake Shelton sings “He wears an old felt hat on his head, got a saddle for a pillow and the ground for a bed, spurs on his heels, reins in his hands, drivin’ cattle, ropin’ steers and burnin’ his brand. There ain’t no lettin’ up all day long, no doubt about it that boy’s country strong.” Now the picture that’s painted with those two songs almost says it all. Hard work combined with time to enjoy the peacefulness that living in the country affords you. And that mental picture makes those of us who don’t live in the country turn to country music to help us daydream a little while we fight traffic jams.
So…if your reading this while your sitting on the front porch picking on six string, take a moment to appreciate how lucky you are. Because you could be stuck in that traffic jam…
This has to be one of my all time favorite pics! Here is my very groovy brother in law representing one of my favorite Gone Country T-Shirts…”I’ll Never Smoke Weed With With Willie Again.” Obviously he has made that choice because it appears he has decided that hard liquor is the better choice over another “session” with Willie! Now I know Dr. K pretty well (or Dr. “Country” as I like to call him) and I figure he had to think long and hard about this life changing decision. But after the all the years he has spent serving others as the world’s greatest bartender (Tom Cruise has nothing on him in “Cocktail”) I’m sure he is much more comfortable with a glass in his hand than a doobie. I’m also sure that at this time in the evening and in this particular bar (although realistically it could be any bar anywhere in the world) he is surrounded by countless Dr. K (or Dr. “Country” as I like to call him) followers that he is no doubt regaling with stories of his numerous travels and adventures. He has a way of spinning a story, peppered with humor and a dash of wisdom, that he uses to mesmerize a crowd of strangers and quite possibly score a few free drinks.
Dr. K (or Dr. “Country” as I like to call him) is one of the countless (millions!) of country music newcomers. He attended the “Country Throwdown” in Gilford NH at the Meadowbrook US Cellular Pavilion with his friend Cheryl and really got into Montgomery Gentry!
Recently we all went to see Rascal Flatts at the Comcast center and it was an incredible concert. Proof again that if you attend just one country music concert you will be hooked for life.
